In order to stay competitive in today’s market place, organizations are recognizing the need to evaluate a structure’s ability to support their telecommunication needs. Building owners and managers must provide an advanced telecommunication and data infrastructure to attract and keep high value tenants. But in many situations, building managers and real estate portfolio managers do not have the time or expertise to effectively evaluate and outline their properties’ requirements. In addition, many of these organizations are adverse to the increased costs associated with establishing and maintaining the in-house expertise to address these requirements.

Monitor the penetration points of all telecom services to insure all structural and aesthetic issues are considered.
Establish a detailed list of procedures that define the tenant’s, providers’ and building manager’s responsibilities. These responsibilities range from the installation of new circuits to handling emergency outages. The creation of a mutually accepted set of procedures can be extremely beneficial in addressing liability issues.
